n. extent of world of living beings; realm, province, domain, level of existence.
The following are used in connection with the Buddha:
1. jāti-khetta --  the extent of ten thousand cosmic systems (cakkavalā) which were convulsed by earthquakes marking the birth of Gautama Buddha.
2. āṇā-khetta -- the extent of one hundred thousand cosmic systems over which the word of Buddha had spread
3. visaya-khetta -- the infinite number of cosmic systems over which the range of the Buddha's omniscience extends.

khet-ta
-- (nt.) [Vedic kṣetra]
1. (lit.) a field, a plot of land, arable land, a site.
   Three kinds of fields: agga-khetta ; majjima-khitta ; hina-khitta (in simile)
   kasī-khetta -- a tilled field, a field ready to bear.
   cp. the threefold division of a buddha-khetta viz. jāti-khetta, āṇā-khetta, visaya-khetta  
2. (fig.) the soil of merit, i.e. of kamma ,which like a fertile field, bears good fruit for the person.
   a-khet-ta -- barren soil

UKT: the word {hkit~ta.} in Burmese means "temporary" or "officiating".
