kata --  (pp. of karoti ) done, worked, made.
1. verb-determinant (predicative), e.g.:
kata atta -- self-possessed, disciplined
kata kamma -- practised, skilled; the deed done in a former existence
2. noun-determinant (attributive), e.g.:
kata kalyana -- having done good, of good character

kavi kata -- composed by poets

UKT: Sometimes gata is replaced by kata and vice versa. -- PTS p242 . This I think is the interchange between a voiceless and a voiced consonant: {ka.} <—>   {ga.}
