kamma-nimitta

{kam~ma. ni.meit~ta}

UMK-USL p28. UKT paraphrase:
n. (A) -- a karmic vision (NDE or near-death experience) symbolizing past willful deeds. It may be either in the form of:
1. upaladdha kamma-nimitta -- principal visionary object
2. upakaraka kamma-nimitta -- associated visionary object, e.g. a dying person who had donated a monastery may have a near-death vision of the monastery itself or objects and activities related to that deed such as food-offertories or monk robes, whereas a fishmonger would have a vision of dead fishes or of knives and clubs he had used while applying his trade.
