Romabama has to accept the fact that in Sanskrit
• s-conjuncts: though spelled with a thibilant{þa.} /θ/, the pronunciation
is sibilant{sa.} /s/. Syllables with /sk/ /st/ and /sp/ are quite distinct
in Sanskrit-Devanagari (an IE language), even though they are absent
in Burmese-Myanmar (a Tib-Myan language).
• s-medials: these are also spelled with a thibilant{þa.} /θ/.
However, the jury is still out considering whether the pronunciation
in Pali-Myanmar is thibilant or sibilant. -- UKT 110920
