{Sha.}/{sha.} : begin

UKT 200101: The phoneme /ʃ/ represented by Skt-Dev grapheme श is a basic consonant in Sanskrit. It can be under a Virama. However, it is a conjunct in Bur-Myan, where it is represented as either Ra-ha'hto {rha.}, or Tha-ya'pin-ha'hto {þhya.}. Being a conjunct, both break down into respective constituents.

To reconcile Burmese and Sanskrit (and English), I need a new grapheme with a sound similar to /ʃ/. What we have in Bur-Myan is Palatal-stop {sa.}/ {c}, but what we need is a Dental-fricative, and therefore, I've to invent a new one: {Sa.}/ {S.}. What we are using on this page is this Dental-fricative modified with Ha'hto {Sha.}. Since Bur-Myan palatal-stop is forbidden in Bur-Myan grammar to be modified with Ha'hto, even if we were to transcribe as {sha.}, there can be no mistake: just remember in actuality it is {Sha.}
