- n. abstinence of ten immoral acts which have the result of benign consequences at rebirth.; ie.
01. pāṅātipātā veramaṅi
  - abstinence from killing;
02. addinānāveramani
  - abstaining from taking what is not given;
03. kāmesumicchācārā veramaṇi
  - abstinence from sexual misconduct;
04. musāvādā veramaṇi
  - abstinece from falsehood;
05. pisuṇi
  - abstinence from committing slander;
06. pharusavācā veramaṇi
  - abstinence from using abusive language;
07. samphappalāpavā cā veramaṇi
  - abstinence from indulging in inanities [UKT: idle talk];
08. anabhijjhā veramaṇi
  - abstaining from being covetuous;
09. avyāpāda veramaṇi
  - abstinence from harbouring ill-will against others;
10. samādiṭṭhi
  - abstaining from entertaining wrong views, and realizing that a person is heir to his karma ie volitional activities from the past or in the present; kammassakatāsammādiṭṭhi.
