English common name; Potato
Description
A herb with underground, stem tubers. Leaves compound, alternate pubescent.
Flowers white to bluish, in forking clusters. Family Solanaceae. Flowers from January to March.
Distribution
Cultivated during the cold season for its edible underground tubers, in Upper
Burma and Hill forests, above 2,500. fn22-01
Uses
A mixture of alkaloids isolated from different parts of the plant lower blood pressure.
