I remember using a similar book 80 years later - but printed in Government Printing Press in Rangoon. The one that I had used (writing from memory) was a {þoän:saún-twè:} 'a combination of 3' which includes Buddhist prayers and the first Paritta - Mingala Sutta, and more multiplication tables.

UKT 201202: Vowels are divided into match-pairs {þa.wûN}, and non-matching pair {a.þa.wûN}.

UKT 201105: Vowels are classified as "short vowels", "long vowels", "emphatic vowels". Bennett gives only two classes "short" and "long". This description is imprecise. We classify the vowels by the time-duration of vowel in terms of the time you take to blink your eye in units of "eye-blink". What Westerners gives as "short" (1 blnk), "long" (2 blnk). They do not realized that Bur-Myan also has "emphatic" (2 blnk with emphasis or 3 blnk).
